ABOUT PMPI
'REACH-OUT PSYCHIATRY'
We Operate in outpatient clinics.
We are a professional group of Board Certified and Board Eligible as well as Sub-Specialty Boarded psychiatrists licensed to practice medicine in the State of California.
Our psychiatrists have years of training and experience in general adult psychiatry, and specialty training in Child/Adolescent and other specialties.
Our main objective is to provide psychiatric care to underserved and remote populations via HIPAA compliant, secure video conferencing equipment.
Telepsychiatry and Tele Mental Health Care can serve to meet or enhance patient access to care in any situation where there is a patient with a psychiatric or mental health need and a psychiatrist is not accessible. We provide the highest quality, evidence-based telepsychiatry services in concert with the patient’s primary care clinicians.
GOAL
The Long-term goal is to improve access to psychiatric medication management services to adults, children and geriatric patient population by utilizing telemedicine access.
PMPI is striving to increase access to all of Californian's without regard for their age, gender, geographic location, ethnicity, social situation, or past history. We are approaching all out-patient institutions that exist in CA including, Rural and Urban clinics - CHC's ( Community Health Centers), FQHC's, CAH associated clinics, DMH (Department of Mental Health) - County Mental Health and MHSA program and VA programs, American Indian communities, Parole clinics, as well as Substance rehab clinics to achieve these goals.
PMPI links the providers to the patient. The driving force behind is 'access for all' and 'remove mental health stigma'. We welcome your suggestions towards these goals and impetus!
UNDERSERVED POPULATION
There is an imbalance between the need and the availability of mental health services. Lack of availability of Psychiatric care causes mental health underserved populations. Access to services is the main reason. Underserved populations include:
1. People living in remote and rural areas (Health Professional Shortage Areas--HPSA--and Medically Underserved Areas),
2. People living in poverty,
3. People living with physical disabilities (blind, hearing impaired, mobility bound, developmentally delayed, elderly, hospice, assisted living, nursing home, hospital-bound, and the infirmed),
4. People living with debilitating mental illnesses that limit their movement in the general population
5. Generational gaps in the utilization of services
6. Gender-based, Cultural based and Age-based bias in the utilization of mental health and the ways population is distributed based on these factors.
7. Underinsured communities. The new health reform has a big focus on addressing the needs of these individuals.
8. Populations affected by lack of parity of mental and physical health services.
OUR SERVICES
Our Psychiatrist and mental health staff provide immediate psychiatric evaluation or consultation in contracted facilities where a psychiatrist may not be onsite or where patient demand has exceeded current medical expertise.
We accomplish this with the use of secure live Video-conferencing equipment which allows real-time, face to face encounters between patients and our providers. This eliminates the geographic or economic barriers that often stand in the way of receiving treatment.

Tell Me More (for patients)
As a patient, are you having trouble getting an appointment to see your psychiatrist? Do you have to wait for months to be seen? Ask your Mental Health Agency to contact Psychiatric Medical practitioners, Inc, so that we can set up a Telepsychiatry program in your area.
Once established, you will be able to make an appointment. It will work exactly the same way it works in your current system (except for being able to get in earlier). You will arrive at your Clinic locally, register at the front desk to see a psychiatrist, you will be escorted to an office where you will meet face-to-face with a Psychiatrist. The only difference is that you will see the doctor on a television screen, live and in real-time. The doctor can see and hear you, and you can hear and see the doctor. Very quickly you will become comfortable with the interface, and you will forget that there is a screen between you and your doctor.
Our doctors are specialists in Mood swing illnesses, Depressions, Bipolar Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, ADHD, Sleep and Anxiety Disorders. Our doctors use electronic prescribing that is accepted by over 95 percent of pharmacies in America. The non-controlled prescriptions are routed through sure-scripts to your local pharmacy, if your medication is a controlled substance that requires an original paper prescription, and then our doctors mail the prescription directly to your Clinic for you to pick up and take to the pharmacy.
What if Nobody in My Area Offers Telepsychiatry as an option?
Contact your local Community Mental Health Care Agency Administrator and ask them to call us for a free, no-obligation Demonstration of our unique Telepsychiatry Services. Or refer them to our website for further information.
Contact Local Patient Advocacy Groups and ask them to urge your local Mental Health Care Agencies to provide Telepsychiatry Services.
These organizations provide education, information, and assistance to health plan members and other health care consumers. The Office of the Patient Advocate works with many of these groups to make sure consumers get information about their health care rights. Write to your local State Representative and ask them why you have to wait so long to get Mental Health Care when Telepsychiatry and TeleMental Health Care is a proven and readily available resource that can be tapped into today.
Billing
For all billing questions ask your local clinic. In our contracts with the clinics, we make arrangements for your clinic to bill for the specialty services our providers render. This makes it easy for you to have a one shop service for your medical and mental health needs without worrying about the additional financial bills and accounts.
